VMWare is the market leader in virtualization, although we have products like Hyper-V from Microsoft which is targeted for managing servers there is no proprietary licensed software which works as great as VMWare Workstation , the (only?) product which is complete open source and free is Oracle VirtualBox which also works as better as VMware Workstation.
Anyways we are here to deal with the setup and installation of your first virtual operating system on top your system, in this tutorial I am going to show you how to install Windows 2008 R2 server operating system (although this tutorial talks about Windows 2008 R2, it stands valid for each and every operating system).
